1. Terms of Service

1.1 Acceptance. By accessing or using StoryboardCanvas.ai ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.2 Eligibility. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

1.3 Account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

1.4 Acceptable Use. You may not use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. You may not use generated content to infringe upon any third party's intellectual property rights.

1.5 AI-Generated Content. Content generated by AI features is produced algorithmically. StoryboardCanvas does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose.

2. Intellectual Property

2.1 Your Content. You retain all rights to content you upload to the Service, including scripts, reference images, and other materials.

2.2 Generated Content. On paid plans (Creator, Filmmaker Pro, Studio, Enterprise), you own full commercial rights to all AI-generated storyboard frames, animatics, and exports. On the free Explorer plan, generated content is licensed for personal and educational use only.

2.3 Our Platform. StoryboardCanvas.ai, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, remains the intellectual property of StoryboardCanvas, Inc.

2.4 Feedback. If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, we may use that feedback without obligation to you.

3. Pricing & Billing

3.1 Plans. The Service offers free and paid subscription plans as described on our Pricing page. Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

3.2 Tokens. Tokens are used for AI generation features. Token costs for specific actions are listed on our Pricing page. Tokens included in your plan allocation refresh monthly. Purchased add-on tokens never expire.

3.3 Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

3.4 Annual Plans. Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months. Early cancellation of annual plans will not result in a refund for unused months.

4. Privacy Policy

4.1 Data Collection. We collect information you provide directly (account details, uploaded scripts, project content) and information generated through your use of the Service (usage analytics, feature interactions, generation history).

4.2 Data Use. We use your data to provide and improve the Service, process transactions, send product communications, and develop our AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4.3 AI Training. Content you create may be used to improve our AI models unless you opt out in your account settings. Enterprise plans include a contractual guarantee that your content will not be used for training.

4.4 Data Storage. Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Project data, frames, and exports are stored in cloud infrastructure with automatic backups.

4.5 Data Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@storyboardcanvas.ai. Deletion is processed within 30 days.

4.6 Cookies. We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. You may disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1 The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

5.2 StoryboardCanvas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

5.3 Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. General

6.1 Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.

6.2 Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
