Abby Singer
aka Abby
Crew slang for the second-to-last shot of the day, named after the production manager Abby Singer who was known for announcing it.
The Abby Singer is the penultimate setup of the day — the heads-up before the Martini. It is named for Abby Singer, a US assistant director and production manager famous for calling it so the crew could pre-rig the final setup and the next location. Calling the Abby keeps the wrap tight. StoryboardCanvas Diary and the Producer Scorecard track shots-per-day and wrap discipline so a 1st AD can see how often the day actually lands on schedule.

Every abby singer we generate stays linked to the rest of the project — change a scene heading and the abby singer updates automatically. No re-import. No copy-paste. One project file from script to wrap.
